Season 49 of "Saturday Night Live" comes to a close this weekend with actor Jake Gyllenhaal serving as the host for the finale.
This will be Gyllenhaal's third time hosting the show, according to NBC. The Academy Award-nominated actor stars in "Road House" and makes his series debut as star and executive producer on "Presumed Innocent" on June 12 on Apple TV+, adds NBC.
Last week's episode was hosted by "SNL" alumna Maya Rudolph, who returned to host the show for the third time. Rudolph joined the show in 2001 and left in 2007, and has made appearances periodically since leaving. Vampire Weekend served as the musical guest on the episode.

Jake Gyllenhaal is scheduled to host the episode. He starred in the movie "Road House," which came out on Amazon Prime Video in March, and is set to start in "Presumed Innocent," a TV series that will premiere on Apple TV+ in June.

Sabrina Carpenter will make her musical guest debut on "SNL" on Saturday, according to NBC. Carpenter recently earned her first Billboard top 10 hit with her newest single, "Espresso."
